Charlotte Lay Dominicans
Catholic lay faithful journeying to heaven in the path of St. Dominic
Dominican Spirituality

The Dominican Laity are fully integrated members of the Order of Preachers founded by St. Dominic, who share in the Order’s apostolic mission through prayer, study, and preaching according to the state of the laity.
Our Rule of Life

The Rule adapts the ends of the Order to the laity: personal sanctification by the practice of a more perfect Christian life, and working for the salvation of souls in a way suitable to the state of the faithful living in the world.
Formation Program

The purpose of Dominican formation is to form true adults in the Faith, capable of accepting, celebrating, and proclaiming the Word of God. Our four stages: Inquiry, Candidacy, Temporary Promise, and Perpetual Promise.
The Four Pillars of the Order of Preachers
- Prayer
- Study
- Community
- Apostolate
The Pursuit of Virtue
“Ponder the fact that God has made you a gardener to root out vice and plant virtue.”
St. Catherine of Siena
Contemplation in Action
This end we ought to pursue: preaching and teaching from the abundance of contemplation in imitation of St. Dominic, who spoke only with God or of God for the benefit of souls.
Who Are We?
We are lay members of the Order of Preachers living in the greater Charlotte area belonging to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Group in the Southern Province of St. Martin de Porres.
